Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 9th

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 9th

Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...

Excerpt: A day after a driver was shot and killed on Interstate 95, Boca Raton police won’t say whether motorists are safe from a shooter on the loose.

Police say an unknown gunman shot Edvin Milkevic early Wednesday near Yamato Road, but they have given the public few details about the crime. That includes whether the killer knew Milkevic or whether it was a random act of violence on the highway.

Asked if drivers should be concerned about driving on I-95 after the shooting, a police spokesman replied only, “Whenever people are driving they should remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.”

Hot Take: I genuinely don't mean to be flippant with this story generally, but this is extremely absurd. Forget for a moment we're talking about a perp who's at large and simply answer this question... Is I95 safe? All you need to do is drive it on any given day to answer that question independent of those circumstances. Four of the top five deadliest roads in the country are in Florida. 3,091 people died last year on Florida's roads. That an average of 8.5 per day and the only road in South Florida that's deadlier than 95 is the Palmetto Expressway. Ironically, you might be able to make the statistical case that 95 being shut down due to the shooting potentially saved lives on 95 on Wednesday.

Hot TakeSo after a year plus of slandering the President with baseless claims of Trump-Russia collusion narratives (still no credible evidence or charges produced)… False claims of the impact of repealing thousands of Obama-era regulations (which is what initially spurred the fastest growth economy since 2005) and demonstrable lies about the impact of tax reform for the average American you find it difficult to take it anymore do you? Lying, slandering and failing would have a way of exhausting you I'd imagine. According to the Media Research Center 91% of NBC's coverage of Donald Trump has been negative over the past year. Maybe if you did your job with integrity it'd be different. But here's an idea. Don't take it anymore. Go away. It'd be a public service if someone who only lied half the time took over for you.

Until Monday...
