Trending – Opening Day For MLB Season

It’s opening day of the Major League Baseball season, and this is the earliest start to the season in history, due to the league adding some additional off days for teams throughout the season.  Today also marked the first time since 1968 that every team was scheduled to play on opening day, but the Cincinnati Reds have postponed their Opening Day game against the Washington Nationals to tomorrow because of some expected inclement weather.

The Marlins will host the Chicago Cubs in the first of today's slate of 14 games.  First pitch at 12:40 p.m. and you can hear the game live on our sister station, Sports Radio 1230, the Zone...home of the Miami Marlins.

Opening Day is here. The 2018 regular season has arrived, and Opening Day looks a little bit different this year.

While the game between the Nationals and Reds in Cincinnati has been postponed until Friday due to inclement weather, the original schedule called for all 30 clubs to play their openers today. That would have made this the first time that everyone began the season on the same day since 1968, when there were only 20 teams.

Here is a look at everything you need to know to get ready for a jam-packed first day.
