Trending – Homes Evacuated, Turnpike Closed Due To Brush Fire

Firefighters spent the night at a 70 acre wildfire near Port St. Lucie after getting it 100 percent contained.  This was the second such fire to break out in St. Lucie County in one week’s time.  The blaze near Bella Road, just east of the Turnpike, at one point caused the evacuation of about 40 homes in the area.  The Turnpike was shut down for more than 10 miles until early this morning.  It's just the latest in a string of fires on the Treasure Coast and statewide.
