Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for April 20th – Hannity Hypocrisy
Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...
Apply the Hannity Standard to 'Objective' Journalists Joseph Wulfsohn, The Federalist
Excerpt: We all know Hannity isn’t an objective journalist. He himself acknowledges that. He’s an opinion host who is a staunch supporter of Trump and more recently, a vocal defender of Cohen. Yet, folks in the media are calling for his head because he wasn’t forthcoming about his relationship with Cohen.
Okay. If that’s the standard, why don’t we apply it to actual “objective” journalists?
CNN’s Jim Sciutto is the network’s chief national security correspondent who also serves as a fill-in anchor for Jake Tapper and Erin Burnett. He has quite the prominent role considering the fact that he’s a former Obama administration official. You can’t even find Obama’s name in Sciutto’s full bio on CNN’s website. Isn’t he obligated to tell his viewers that he had served in the previous presidency, which has its animus towards the current one?
Then there’s also the face of ABC News, George Stephanopoulos, who famously served as White House Communications Director for President Bill Clinton. But no one seems to think it’s a “conflict of interest” when he interviews people like Hillary Clinton or former FBI Director James Comey.
And we can’t forget all those reporters who were exposed aiding the Clinton campaign in John Podesta’s hacked emails during the 2016 election. Glenn Thrush, who at the time worked for Politico, sent Podesta drafts of Clinton puff pieces for him to approve and even referred to himself as a “hack.” And what happened to him? He got a better job at The New York Times.
Hot Take: Day in and day out the best journalism takes place at the Federalist. Amen. Liars and hypocrites line the halls of many MSM outlets - not just prominent offices in D.C. There's a one-sided endless standard. Hannity is honest about who he is and what he believes. The cited examples are just the tip of the ice burg in the MSM. Chuck Todd's wife is literally bought and paid for by the DNC and related causes through her organization Maverick Strategies and that's not something that would potentially enter the conversation concerning his position, either right? Once again the most pervasive form of media bias isn't what's presented to you. It's ommition.
Will Trump Make a Bad Deal With North Korea? Brian Bennett & W.J. Hennigan, Time
Hot Take: Will Time right a dumb hypothetical column for the purpose of drafting a hit piece? The answer to one of those questions is yes.
Trump Is a Liar and Morally Unfit for Office James Comey, NBC News
Hot Take: The saying "consider the source" has never been more relevant... Btw, aside from the fascinating prospect of James Comey now being the morality police, remember when the media dedicated it's time to attempting to destroy social conservatives and their causes? I guess that's another inconvenient truth. Btw, does anyone else notice the irony of the Deputy AG, Rod Rosenstein, saying that Comey was unfit for his office? That's another inconvenient truth.
