Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for May 21st – The Great gun grab

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for May 21st  The Great gun grab

Bottom Line: Your daily doses of nonsense in the media and my takes on them...

Excerpt: Hey there, NRA:

Listen, I know the moments after a gunman opens fire in a school are hectic for you. You have to get your talking points together, you have to mentally prepare to debate a traumatized yet sensible child, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and practice saying that more guns would have made the situation less deadly. It’s a busy time! And since we are always either in the moments after or the moments before a mass shooting, you’re pretty much always busy, I have noticed!

Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I now actually do want to take your guns.

All of your guns.

Right now.

Hot Take: actually applaud the writer for honesty. Something that's been in short-supply in the wake of the gun control movement post-Parkland. As I've talked about at length 28% of Americans supported the elimination of the 2nd amendment prior to the Shooting at Stoneman Douglas yet hid behind "assault weapons" ban arguments in the wake. So, kudos for the integrity. Now, that your honest let's address this concern. Let's say no legal guns could be owned. Would shooters like the one in Texas still be a threat to society? Do guns make people a threat or are they already a threat and they've used guns (illegal as the case may be in Texas)? Answer that one and we can have the next phase of the conversation. Btw, are bombs potentially more or less of a threat than guns? Might want to consider that as well as you answer your questions because it's clear that was all part of the plan on Friday.

Until Tomorrow...
