Voter Fraud in Florida – It’s about more than South Florida - Part 3
Bottom Line: Ironically enough our collective confidence regarding fair and honest elections taking place had reached a twelve year high prior to this election cycle. According to Gallup 70% of Americans believed we would have fair and honest elections. That was up from 66% going into the 2016 Presidential election and this highest since 75% had confidence in the 2006 midterms. So much for that right?
Even at 70%, nearly a third of all Americans were already skeptical. In light of the lawlessness that played out in Broward and Palm Beach Counties this cycle it’s bound to be considerably lower in South Florida, Florida and across the country. We’re well aware that what happens in Florida’s elections doesn’t stay in Florida. Unfortunately, what’s commonly reported, is about Florida’s issues. Let’s be clear. Florida isn’t the problem. 65 of Florida’s 67 counties – including our largest – Miami-Dade, responsibly held elections and reported results under the law. Two, Broward and Palm Beach, did not. The lawlessness in these two counties is a stain on the state and erodes confidence across the country. The defiance of the law in both counties is arguably the most pervasive form of voter suppression available. I’ve heard from countless people wondering if their votes really counted. That’s wrong and that’s what’s at stake here once the dust is settled on this mess.
It’s why it critical that there’s true accountability for Brenda Snipes and Susan Bucher. We shouldn’t ever have to worry if our votes count. Many are worrying because of these two. They’ve each violated the law a minimum of six different times this election cycle but it’s the violation of trust that’s the biggest offense. We deserve better.
