Scientists Have Determined The Most Influential Movie Of All Time

A group of researchers from the University of Turin in Italy have determined that the Wizard of Oz is the most influential movie of all time. The researchers used data from IMDB and developed an algorithm that looked at a variety of factors from over 47,000 films, including how many times a movie has been referenced by other films.

The second-most influential movie was Star Wars followed by the Alfred Hitchcock horror classic Psycho.

They also looked at the careers actors, actresses, and directors to see who had the largest impact in the film industry. Samuel L. Jackson was number one, followed by Clint Eastwood and Tom Cruise. Lois Maxwell, known for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the early James Bond movies, was the most influential actress, while Carrie Fisher was the second-most influential woman in Hollywood.

Alfred Hitchcock was the most influential director while Stephen Speilberg was ranked second and Scarface director Brian DePalma was third.
