Forget the abs, good credit scores are much sexier
Bottom Line: It’s nothing new that chicks dig a balanced check book, or the digital version anyway. Ever since the Great Recession it’s been widely researched that women are far more reluctant to date men with high debt and/or poor credit scores, but we have even greater insight into the value of good credit – beyond your own finances. Last year in a WalletHub survey they found 53% of people wouldn’t marry someone with poor credit. As big as that number is, there’s a new one from Finder.com. They found the following:
- 72% of adults wouldn’t potentially date or marry someone with too much debt
So, what’s too much debt? According to the average person...
- $12,615
There are exceptions, business loans, home loans and auto loans are generally viewed differently (though even 39% of people view even a home or business loan as unacceptable in a partner too). It’s clear that as time goes on, the days of keeping up with the Jones’s is even less cool than it was after the recession. So,if you want to bring sexy back, you’re better off with an 800 credit score than an 8 pack of abs.
