Florida Legislative Session recap – Highlights from Tallahassee

Bottom Line: I’m doing a daily recap of the some of the notable developments from Florida’s session. So, let’s get to it. On Thursday there was...

  • The Full Florida House voted to end regulations limiting the number of hospitals, nursing homes and hospices that can be built and operated by a single operator
  • The House Education Committee approved the expansion of the Guardian program in Florida schools would enable qualified educators to be able to arm themselves within schools
  • A bill that would raise the penalty for killing a police K-9 to a 2nd degree felony passed all House and Senate committees and moves to full votes in both chambers
  • A bill that’d call for the end of Florida’s Constitution Revision Commission cleared it’s House Committees and moves to a full House vote. If approved in the state session it’d be on our 2020 ballots to consider
