Florida's recap – Highlights from around the state
Bottom Line: I’ve been doing a daily recap of the some of the notable developments from Florida’s session and am expanding covering to include other news from around the state. Here’s what happened yesterday...
- Bill that’d require a two-thirds vote for proposed state constitutional amendments cleared its final committee vote and is ready for a vote on the full House floor. If it passes this session it’ll be on next year’s ballot as ironically enough an amendment
- The bill deregulating a myriad of professional license requirements continued to progress in the state Senate
- A parental consent bill requiring minors obtain parental consent prior to carrying out an abortion passed a House committee making it possible that it’s on the table for this session. It’s already passed two of the three Senate committees required and remains on track for this session
