Google’s got the goods on you. This is how to delete it
Bottom Line: There’s a good chance that anything you’ve ever done online exists somewhere, on some server, that the men in black have access to. Nothing we can do about that but there is something we can do about what Google’s got on us. Two-thirds of all of us use Google Chrome as our browser and over 92% of us use Google for search. That’s means that almost all of us have stuff stored with Google. Finally, about a year after Facebook’s foray into data transparency, Google’s doing the same.
Google’s now giving you the option to determine how long they store your activity. Here’s how you do it:
- Login to your account
- Go to Data & Personalization
- Click Web & App Activity
- Click Manage Activity
- Click Choose to delete automatically.
- Choose your time frame
Theoretically, one you do this, all the data they have on you will be deleted passed that timeline. Except for the men in black. Google’s also going to add additional options for location tracking soon. I’ll keep you posted.
