Being happy is best but being sad is better than being angry

Being happy is best but being sad is better than being angry for your health

Bottom Line: If there’s any emotion that you should try to avoid above all others it’s anger. It’s just plain bad for you. A Montreal based research group just completed a study published in the medical Journal Psychology and Aging that found there’s a direct connection between one’s level of anger and negative health outcomes. In fact, there was a direct link between anger and increases in heart disease, arthritis and cancer in people between the ages of 59 to 93. Can’t imagine it ages well younger either.

Sadness was the next most negative emotion to carry with you although it wasn’t linked to chronic illnesses and disease the way that anger was. Basically, the chemicals racing through your body when you’re mad can literally kill you over time. So, if you’re prone to anger – perhaps even literally taking a chill pill is a good idea.
