- Yesterday Georgia became the 26th state to join the Electronic Registration Information Center, which reveals voters active in multiple states enabling corrective action to be taken to prevent people from voting in multiple states. Florida still hasn’t joined and director of Florida’s Division of Election’s, Maria Matthews, said “there’s a lot of moving parts and pieces to this”, not providing a timeline for Florida's participation in advance of the 2020 elections. Entering the 2018 election cycle, 2.75 million people were registered in multiple states with Florida having the highest number of any state in the country.
- Governor DeSantis has ordered an investigation into Florida’s election systems on back of the news that two Florida counties had voting information breached during the 2016 cycle
- According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife’s annual report there were 628 boating accidents in 2018. A decline of 18% year over year. 59 people died in accidents on the water, down from 67 in 2017
