  • Attorney John Morgan is threatening to sue Andrew Gillum after Gillum created a new PAC called Forward Florida Action, in which he has direct oversight of funds & operations. Gillum has been moving campaign donations from Forward Florida – his campaign fund from the 2018 election cycle,to Forward Florida Action which has less oversight. Gillum had $3.5 million in leftover campaign funds from the 2018 cycle.
  • Discovery Channel has partnered with the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale Beach,for Shark Week this year. Each night from July 27th through August 4th Discovery will screen commercial free episodes from the Ritz with proceeds benefiting the Shark Research & Conservation Program at the University of Miami which has been involved in numerous Shark Week episodes over the years.
  • Palm Beach Atlantic has announced a $40 million plan for 510 new dorms that’s projected to be completed by August of next year
  • FHP has joined with Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee in what’s called Operation Southern Shield to crack down on speeding on high-speed corridors in these states. Added emphasis on speeding is being placed by FHP through Sunday. Last year 10,590 crashes were attributed to speeding in Florida.
