What’s the best time of the day to eat? Right in the middle

Bottom Line: If you didn’t know your body reaches its peak metabolism right in the middle of the day. For the average person who’s not working the graveyard shift that’s 10am-2pm. That means that whatever makes its way into your mouth during that time is going to more efficiently processed by your body. Based on that logic alone it makes that most sense to max out your caloric intake during that time. The latest research from the University of Alabama Birmingham takes it one step further. We should eat dinner at 2pm and fast the rest of the way. They had two key takeaways from their research...

  • Eating more calories earlier will suppress your appetite later &
  • You’ll maximize the fat burning on those calories

The challenge of course is our typical schedule. With typical workdays it could be a challenge to pull this off. But maybe try it on a weekend day when you do have control and see how it goes. Losing weight and other challenges are difficult enough. This has the potential to have a meaningful impact on weight without less consumption but rather re-timing it based on our body’s natural efficiencies.
