  • Florida’s medical marijuana industry has the second fastest growth rate in the country to Oklahoma. 255,000 Floridians now have qualified medical marijuana cards with over 600 new patients per day added on average statewide.
  • Hepatitis A cases have now reached a total that’s already four times the 2018 level in Florida, with 2,266 cases reported statewide in 2019. Florida's Department of Health declared a public health emergency earlier this month
  • Jeffrey Epstein signed a will pertaining to the disposition of his estate and assets less than two days prior to his death covering all of his assets including those in Florida. It’s likely to be litigated.
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife has detained a kinkajou after it bit a man in Lake Worth Beach. The non-native animal requires a permit to bring into the United States and there are no legally licensed owners in South Florida. 
  • Next steps in the development of David Beckham’s Miami Freedom Park are in question after environmental tests showed the grounds contain dangerous levels of arsenic. The site had previously been home to an incinerator.
