- In Davie, a 16-year-old Nova High School student was arrested after posting his desire to kill students in his school. In the online forum Discord, he posted the following: “I want people to suffer. I want to step on and or over their bloodied corpses ... then blow their heads off to make sure they’re dead." “I wish to see those I haven’t shot shake in fear and scream and cry ... then see the shock on their faces once I’ve shot them too."
- Separately a 16-year-old female student in Altamonte Springs was arrested for threatening to shoot students in her school, St. Mary Magdalen. In a group chat she wrote the following: “Next person to say something is the first person I will shoot on the school shooting that will take place this Friday”.
- Senator Marco Rubio petitioned the Florida, Fish and Wildlife Agency to exercise its constitutional rights under state law to protect the Key deer if the US Fish and Wildlife Service remove the Key deer from the endangered species list. Florida has 124 species currently on the endangered species list including seven that are unique to Florida – including the Key deer.
- The coast guard has suspended the search for two missing Jacksonville firefighters who were lost at sea a week ago today.
- The “I-95” killer Gary Ray Bowles was executed via lethal injection for the murders of homosexual men targeted in 1994.
