Q&A of the Day – Trump impeachment is based on a false premise

Hi Brian, Hope you are well.
1) Wondering how you view President Trump’s character and strong-arm tactics now against the “whistleblower”?
2) What do you think of Mike Pompeo not coming right out to defend Donald Trump on his “perfect” call with the Ukraine? Now it turns out Pompeo was actually on the call.
3) Do you find it surprising or troubling that Donald Trump found it appropriate to re-tweet Pastor Jeffries remark of “a Civil War like fracture in this Nation” should Donald Trump be removed from office? During impeachment only? During election vote out?
Bottom Line: Day in and day out I’m inundated with variations of questions along these lines. I’m guessing you’re encountering it as well. I’m going to address these questions in an intellectually honest way that you can use if you’re interested in integrity rather than pure political outcomes.
I reject the premise of each of your questions because they’re predicated on accepting a false premise. It’s not my intent to be rude, just pragmatic. If the premise of anything is false, anything built on it will be too. To answer the questions, I’d have to accept the premise that it was acceptable for a conspiracy to be carried out against Donald Trump. A conspiracy that included a fraudulently created Dossier and false petitioning of the FISA court to surveil his campaign - continuing during his time as President. A conspiracy carried out with top level officials at the Obama Justice Department, intelligence agencies and State Department. I’d have to assume that the entire narrative of Trump-Russia collusion planted by that conspiracy, which has been proved to be false, was acceptable. I’d have to assume that the actors in the conspiracy, currently under investigation by the Justice Department, are credible (including former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe who was recently recommended for indictment). And just for good measure I’d also have to accept the premise that Joe Biden, by his own admission, threatening Ukranian officials to fire a prosecutor to the direct benefit of his son, is acceptable. I have more integrity than to do such a thing. And you should too. This is much bigger than politics.
As I’ve occasionally stated since February 2nd of 2018, when the House Investigation first began to reveal what happened leading to all of this, the most important function of President Trump isn’t policy. It’s accountability for the deep-state actors aligned at the highest levels of federal government agencies. If they were to go unchecked and get away with conspiracy against the President of the United States, not only would we not all be equal under the law, we’d be living in a banana republic. But that’s not the only concern here.
Aside from attempting to remove President Trump from office through conspiracy, there’s also a secondary effort to isolate him as president. We’ve seen unprecedented pressure, criticism and accusations leveled at numerous administration officials throughout his administration. There’s been a clear effort to isolate President Trump and to discourage high quality people from being within his administration. I know firsthand, it’s been effective to keep certain people desired by President Trump from joining his administration. Any American who cares more about their country more than their political party should want the best possible people in the most important places within the Trump administration.
There are two sides to stories and one side to facts. I’ll stick with facts and operate with integrity. It's desperately needed in today’s media landscape.
