- President Trump visited the Villages on his rescheduled trip. He signed an executive order pertaining to various Medicare fixes over the next year
- The Florida Public Service Commission approved rules to allow utility companies to raise additional funds to underground powerlines. Under the plan utility companies will be able to surcharge customers for the costs as they’re incurred. FPL is proposing a three-year plan for the under-grounding of the approximate 60% of their network that’s not currently under-grounded.That’s seven fewer years than is required under state law.The total estimated cost for FPL is $14.5 billion that will be accounted for overtime by the five million FPL account holders
- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several South Florida Democrats met with Venezuelans in Weston discussing TPS among other issues. She addressed the question of impeachment of President Trump by saying the House doesn’t need too much inquiry – implying she may be close to calling for an impeachment vote. She later visited with Haitian leaders in South Florida to discuss the ongoing turmoil inHaiti.
- The teacher at Watson B. Duncan Middle School who presided over the now infamous “Trump idiot”question has been “disciplined” according to the school district. A review found that the question was formed in the computer program for the test but not adequately reviewed by the teacher prior to administering the test. The District declined to say what the “discipline” is for the teacher.
