- South Florida home sales jumped with lower mortgage rates in September. In Broward total sales rose 11.3% year over year, in Miami-Dade they were up 10.9% and in Palm Beach County sales rose 3.1%.
- Governor DeSantis offered support for allowing college athletes to receive endorsement compensation. There’s a bill proposed in the Florida House and the governor’s support makes the prospect much more likely to pass in the upcoming session.
- The U.S. Attorney for Florida’s Northern District,Lawrence Keefe, said he won’t enforce federal law against Florida’s existing medical marijuana law. Under federal law all use of marijuana is illegal as it’s a schedule one drug. He didn’t weigh in on recreational use if Florida were to sanction its use next year.
