Revisited: Run for your life – literally

Run for your life – literally

Bottom Line: In what will be about the least shocking news ever moving around does you some good. But now we know how running, even just a little, can have a profound impact on your life and death as the case may be...

Researchers studied over 232,000 people for between 5 to 35 years. They looked at the health implications of running, or even just occasional jogging. Those who even just occasionally jogged, let alone had a solid routine, had a 30% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and 23% lower chance of dying from cancer.

The study published in the British Journal of Sports medicine concluded that running or jogging just once a week for less than an hour will have at least the health benefit identified. Given that heart disease and cancer are the two biggest causes of death for men. That’s some motivation to quite literally doing a little running for your life.
