- Two infants have died due to the flu, marking the first two deaths in Florida, according to the CDC. Currently 13 flu outbreaks exist statewide, up from the same time a year ago. Outbreaks are on the rise throughout South Florida with the flu spreading fastest in Palm Beach County currently
- Florida’s population gain of over 233,000 people in the past year is the second highest to Texas in the country. We’re averaging adding 640 additional people per day statewide. Ten states lost population led by New York shedding nearly 77,000 people.
- The Census Bureau has finalized its hiring plans for the 2020 Census. The Bureau is looking to hire nearly 15,000 people between Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. The jobs pay $17.50 per hour and they’re especially interested in bilingual applicants.
- FHP has issued a clarification regarding Florida’s texting while driving laws regarding those driving certain golf carts. With all warnings set statewide set to be replaced with citations by tomorrow, FHP has stated that any vehicle that’s registered and on a roadway is subject to the new law.
