- All 14 Earth Fare grocery stores in Florida are closing as the company announced its winding down operations. This includes a location in West Palm Beach.
- 8-year Term limits for School Board members came one step closer to reality yesterday as a Senate Elections panel passed a proposed constitutional amendment for 8-year limits. This matches the push in the House and would treat school board members equitably with state elected officials.
- After passing all committees in the House, easing regulations on occupational licenses, one of two priorities of Governor DeSantis which didn’t pass in last year’s session, made its way through its first Senate Committee – giving life to the proposal after it died in committee last year.
- Legislation to make selling shark fins illegal in Florida advanced in the state Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee. The same committee also passed a separate bill that would increase penalties for illegal bear hunting by raising fines and suspending hunting licenses. This on the same day that more than 1,000 pounds of shark fins were seized at Port Miami.
- The bill proposing prescription kiosks for pharmacies cleared another committee the Senate and is on to its final committee votes in both the House and Senate.
