- AG Ashley Moody warned of a new voice mimicking scam in which voices of people familiar to us are replicated by scammers. The scammers are calling Floridians with messages that appear to be from friends and family members saying they’re in an emergency situation and need help. Moody said it’s one of the scariest scams she’s seen to date. She advises to never give out personal information over the phone if you didn’t initiate the call. Instead, call your family member directly to confirm it’s them.
- The Florida Supreme Court approved the ballot language for the “Keep Our Constitution Clean” proposed amendment.This proposed amendment which will be on our November ballots would make it more challenging for future proposed amendments to be adopted by requiring passage in two separate elections.
- Uber is starting a new Florida service that will allow you to catch an Uber without using an app. The number 1-833-USE-UBER will allow you to connect with a driver to pick you up.
- Movers in Thursday’s state session included...Term limits for school board members, a bill that’d preempt local governments from requiring occupational licenses that aren’t a requirement according to the state, the bill that’d allow e-bikes access to all areas that regular bikers are allowed to go and the full House voting to pass the parental consent bill on a 75-43 vote.
