- A fourth person in Florida has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. The 72-year-old man lives in Santa Rosa County in the panhandle and had recently traveled internationally.
- The Florida Department of Health stated that testing for the coronavirus will remain limited to those who’ve had a travel history to an at-risk area or contact with an infected individual within the previous 14 days. This as the state waits for additional test kits from the CDC.
- Rather than avocados from Mexico, how about avocados from Florida? Florida’s avocado industry is now the second fasting growing agricultural crop statewide (to hemp). It’s on pace to grow 13% over last year.
- Early voting begins this weekend in Palm Beach and Martin Counties and continues through Sunday the 15th for Florida’s March 17th Presidential primary and municipal elections.
- Movers in Thursday’s state session included a bill for the state to create and maintain sea-level rise projections, Alyssa’s law for school panic alert systems, the bill that’d raise the threshold for proposed constitutional amendments to be considered by Florida’s Supreme Court, a bill condemning white nationalism and a bill providing additional safeguards for fertility patients.
