- Eight additional COVID-19 cases were diagnosed on Tuesday. Seven of the eight cases have a recent travel history to at-risk areas including five to China. There are now 26 total cases involving Floridians and two non-Floridians who were diagnosed and are isolating in Florida.
- The Florida Health Department is advising anyone who has traveled through Port Everglades recently to self-isolate for 14 days if there are any symptoms of illness and to contact their County Health Department. Three employees of Metro Cruise Services, which works out of the port are among the four in Broward to have tested positive for COVID-19.
- AG Ashley Moody has activated the state price gouging hotline due to complaints over coronavirus related issues. The hotline is 866-9NO SCAM
- A case of dengue fever has been diagnosed in the Keys and Florida Health officials believe it was locally contracted. It’s the first of 2020. 19 cases were diagnosed last year in the Keys. Monroe Mosquito Control is investigating.
- Movers in Tuesday’s state session included the passage of “Alyssa’s Law” for panic alert systems in schools. The bill requires a mobile, standard, panic alert system in Florida schools and is on its way to Governor DeSantis...so is a ban on local sunscreen bans. The bill that’d ban hemp and vapes in Florida’s prisons passed to the Governor as well. Legislation that’d raise the threshold for proposed constitutional amendments advanced as well. Today figures to be one of the busiest days of the session with numerous bills close to the finish line.
