  • Governor DeSantis announced Phase Two reopening will begin Friday for 64 of Florida’s 67 counties – excluding Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. This enables the reopening of movie theaters, bars and casinos with up to 50%capacity. DeSantis used the guidelines for Phase Two recommended by the Re-Open Florida Task Force. 
  • The Florida Health Care Association recognized the successful efforts of the state to protect nursing home residents and staff from COVID-19. This as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services showed Florida’s rate of COVID cases in nursing homes at nearly half the national average. 
  • Three Publix stores join the state’s pilot program for expanded testing. Starting today three Publix locations will offer walk up COVID-19 testing, including the Publix on West Sample Road in Coral Springs. The test results will be handled by Quest Diagnostics. Publix joins Home Depot in Florida’s new initiative for expanded testing.Speaking of testing...
  • Free antibody testing is available starting today for anyone 18 and older at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Beach Convention Center. The locations will provide between 40 to 125 tests daily on a first come first served basis to anyone with a valid ID who is at least 18.
  • The MLS announced an agreement with its Players Association for a summer tournament to be held in Orlando. Under the agreement the league’s 26 teams will be based in the Orlando area and games played at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Specific dates for the tournament have yet to be announced.
