  • Governor DeSantis unveiled a new COVID-19 self-assessment website called the Florida Safe Survey. The free ten-minute online questionnaire assesses your risk of getting or spreading COVID-19, whether you’re at elevated risk if you do contract the virus and provides specific guidance based on your answers.
  • With just over 4,100 newly reported COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Florida’s weekly average dropped to the lowest level since June 25th. Florida’s positivity rate dropped to 7% yesterday as well.   • Governor DeSantis said that Florida’s next step in reopening will be to move Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties into Phase 2 reopening. He specifically cited Dade’s positivity rate dropping below 10% as a positive catalyst. Without offering a specific day for phase 2 – he implied it could be soon.
  • The court ordered mediation between the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Education Association, which is suing the state to attempt to prevent any classroom education in Florida for the foreseeable future, has failed to produce resolution. Both parties will return to the Leon County courtroom today.
