Top Three Takeaways – November 12th

  1. Journalism is all but dead but so is our education establishment. This might not be an earth-shattering revelation to you, but the current context of our currently disputed Presidential election has evidenced this in spades. No matter how many times or how many people call Joe Biden President-Elect he isn’t. Not until Donald Trump concedes or until he’s certified to have won enough Electoral College votes sufficient to place him at or above 270. That’s more than two weeks away as of today. But what does this have to do with the education establishment in addition to our news media? Our news media wouldn’t be able to falsely establish Joe Biden as President-Elect prematurely if most Americans had a comprehensive civics education - inherently understanding what I’ve been explaining this week. And btw, if this is new information to you, it’s not my intent to impugn you. You just should have been taught this...that you weren’t illustrates just how long the education establishment has been failing our country generally. Which takes me to my 2nd takeaway today.
  2. Thank you, Governor DeSantis, for making civics education a priority in Florida. This was music to my ears well before now, because frankly understanding what has to occur for a candidate to be President-Elect is among the least concerning omittions from our education establishment. Without getting into all of the specifics with what hasn’t been taught that should be, just imagine how pervasive the dearth of civics education is, if most Americans haven’t been taught about something as basic as the constructions of becoming President of the United States. To all of those who’ve poked fun at our state, including locals with the Flori-Duh insults and the like, laugh all you want. I’ve said South Florida would save this country from socialism for years, ironically most legal immigrants not only know how evil socialism is, but have a firmer grasp of American civics than natural born citizens do. I’m as convinced as ever that Florida is on the right path and will hold the key to preserving the Republic in the future.
  3. Eta go away, and blow away 2020 with it. Please? Who’s ready for the end of hurricane season, the end of this election cycle and the end of this year? But here’s the thing. While 2020 literally started with a date on the calendar, what made this year suck first - the virus, didn’t. Just as it wasn’t ushered in on January 1st, it’s not going away on December 31st either. And btw, neither is this election cycle. As you’re well aware this cycle and potentially the future of the Republic, will be decided on January 5th, 2021. In the meantime, I’m about ready for the holidays.
