West Palm Beach Residents Face Deadline To Apply For Rent Assistance

The final deadline is today for West Palm Beach residents to apply for the Palm Beach County CARES Act Rental and Utility Assistance Program.

Officials say the eligibility requirements include experiencing a loss of income as a direct result of the coronavirus and being at or below 140 percent of the area median income.

Applicants can get help with as much as $10,000 of rent in arrears and electric, water or gas up to $1,200 in arrears all going back to March.

Food assistance is also available through the county's Community Services Department.
