Top Three Takeaways – February 12th, 2021

  1. Are you better off than you were four weeks ago? I mean life after Trump was supposed to immediately improve, right? Biden would sign record executive actions (which did happen). Vaccines would be flowing like never before (which didn’t). Everyone would be unified. Of course, I’m being facetious but there were promises things would begin to change immediately and they have. Take for example jobs. Through the executive orders ending the Keystone Pipeline and border wall 12,000 people lost their jobs. I’m guessing those people aren’t better off than they were four weeks ago. Related...how about gas prices? They’re 22 cents per gallon, or 10% higher than they were four weeks ago. So, it’s safe to say no one paying for gas is better off than four weeks ago. Now how about that amazing vaccine rollout we heard about? In Florida we’ve received 55% fewer first doses than four weeks ago. I guess 91% of Floridians who remain unvaccinated aren’t better off than they were four weeks ago. And how about that unity? With President Biden failing to lead by calling on the Senate to vote to dismiss the impeachment can’t you just feel the unity presented by the trial this week? I guess the ANTIFA rioters in Portland didn’t get the memo. And with the trial playing out in the Senate rather than the Senate taking up something like actual COVID-relief legislation, well the average American, the average business certainly isn’t better off than four weeks ago. The point is this. A lot actually has happened in four weeks. It just hasn’t made yours, or the average American’s life better. But I know, I know we should just give it some...
  2. Time. That’s B.S. Why? In life, in business, I’ve been fortunate to attain high levels of success. I’ve never once attainted it by wasting time. Moreover, I’ve never witnessed someone achieve success by enacting bad policy and giving it even more time to persist. It’s the one thing we never get back and four weeks of failed policies is bad enough, the fact we’re stuck with it for four years is a whole other issue but to those who care more about their political party than people, try this one on for size. Trying telling the 12,000 people Joe Biden literally took the jobs from to give it time. Try telling the millions of Americans struggling financially that now have to pay more for fuel to just give it time. Try telling the seniors in Florida which are 0 for 20 in attempting to obtain a vaccine appointment to just give it time. And as for the priorities of impeachment over COVID-relief – the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress already told you to wait until they think it’s time. Because clearly their priority is an impeachment trial for a former president over serving your interests.
  3. Victims. Don’t act like one. It doesn’t accomplish anything. Instead, what are you doing today that’s constructive? I’ve been asked multiple times recently what should we do? The answer is whatever is best for you and your family. Waiting on the government is exactly what leftists who believe in big government want you to do. They want increased reliance. They create the problems like inequality, unemployment, affordability issues and then pretend they have the solutions and care about you. They thrive on the victim mentality. The best way to combat the utter disrespect for you, your family, your intelligence and your time is to use yours to improve your own situation...without regard to those who seek to control you on their own time. That is until election time.
