Top Three Takeaways – March 19th, 2021

  1. What’s up is down. What’s down is up. That’s the only way to explain why we have thousands of National Guard troops “defending” the “People’s House”, yet we aren’t securing our southern border. It’s why the President of the United States is imploring us to mask up and remain vigilant as we work our way out of this pandemic, yet allows illegal immigrants, hundreds of which have tested positive for COVID-19, into this country at will. It’s why a Border Patrol Agent contracted COVID-19 while processing illegal immigrants at the border and died from it, but it’s not covered by news media. It’s why these illegal immigrants commonly come to our border wearing shirts that say, “Biden let us in”. It’s also why you have to produce photo ID to access a federal building, yet only 18 states require one to vote for those who run those buildings. Yes, I’m frustrated. No, I’m not surprised. I’ve always emphasized the importance of elections. What we’re witnessing is a systematic deconstruction of right and wrong from those who want to fundamentally transform this country from the bottom up. But here’s what you nor I can do. Give up. That’s what they want us to do. That’s what they’re hoping for and to a certain extent counting on. Instead, what we need to do is stand up and be heard like never before. That includes letting your elected representatives know how you feel. Especially if your interests aren’t represented. And it means rocking the polls like never before to send those who’ve sold us out packing next year. Some concepts transcend partisan politics. At the point where elected officials decide what’s wrong is right and what’s right is wrong, they must go – or at some point our freedom will. The work to make that happen should start now. But speaking of concepts based on a false premise...
  2. Finally. The reason so much in our society is so backwards today, is due to the failures of our education system which, since the creation of the Department of Education in 1980, have prioritized removing God and prayer from school over educating children as to why they’re free and over 80% of the world’s population isn’t - for starters. For far too long Republicans have looked the other way with the education establishment as the teacher’s unions have openly embraced socialism and raised generations of children who know more about Lebron James, appropriately a supporter of Chinese Communists, than Jamestown. Losing the culture war outside of the classroom is one thing. Not educating our kids about even their own history is another. Enter Ron DeSantis. Quoting him: Florida’s civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories. Let me be clear. There is no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory. Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money. We will invest in actual, solid, true curriculum and we will be a leader in the development and implementation of a world-class civics education. We’re actually going to have to educate many of the educators first, given that they weren’t taught this, and their unions don’t support it, but chalk this up as the most recent way in which Florida’s set to save this country from itself.
  3. It gets better from here. A lot of life is complicated. Improving isn’t. If every day we choose to make good decisions, one after the next, life gets better. Here’s to making every decision a good one today. It’s the first and easiest way to improve our lives. And yay, it’s Friday.
