Top Three Takeaways – April 19th, 2021

  1. Publix & Ron Desantis. Florida’s two most approved of entities. In fact, in the most recent polling within Florida, nothing surveyed received higher approval ratings. This ranks Publix and the governor ahead of Major League Baseball, President Biden, every major social media platform, Donald Trump and traditional news media. Speaking of which...
  2. Mainstream media. There’s nothing less popular in the state of Florida that’s been surveyed than them. Traditional news media sports a 39% approval rating with a net disapproval rating of 14%. It’s completely earned and ironically, it’s these journalistic frauds that have attempted to use every dirty trick in the book to smear, besmirch and slander Governor DeSantis for over a year at this point. Most recently, on back of the 60 Minutes hit piece, two-thirds of Floridians had a higher opinion of DeSantis after the mainstream media’s attempted hit on our governor. It's funny what happens when people discover the truth. And there’s a lot that’s worth addressing here. What does it say when the residents of the third largest state in the country are more supportive of their governor than a professional sports league with two teams in the state after they decided to join cancel culture and political wokeness? What does it say when the governor is far more popular than the President of the United States whose been critical of our governor? What does it say when every major social media platform ranks far behind our governor in approval - this as social media platforms have begun to censor the governor? What it tells you is that freedom is alive and well in Florida and we have our eyes open. DeSantis’s approval smashes that of every entity which has come after him – with news media being the biggest loser of all.
  3. It’s Florida’s time. For over a decade I’ve discussed my view that Florida would one day save this country from itself, and that South Florida specifically, due to our diversity and legal immigrants who have perspective lacked by so many poorly educated and informed native-born Americans. It’s increasingly appearing as though our time has come. At a recent event Governor DeSantis was handed a hat from a veteran that said DeSantis 2024, Make America Florida. That’s a succinct way of summarizing all that I’ve described. It's ironic because I’ve personally never felt worse about the state of leadership in our country, institutions like Major League Baseball, technology companies or traditional media (which for all the haters – joke’s on you - that makes me an average Floridian), yet I’ve never be more optimistic about Florida. I guess that’s the way it was always going to happen.
