Top Three Takeaways – May 13th, 2021
- We didn’t start the fire. It was always burning since the world was turning. The difference between Billy Joel’s iconic hit and today is that Joel depicted 118 cultural and historical inflection points. Now it’s like we’re living all of them at once, including some we’d already encountered and overcome as referenced by the Piano Man. Take for example these references... “Red China”, “North Korea – South Korea”, “Vaccine”, “Trouble in the Suez”, “Castro”, “Stranger in a strange land”, “Moonshot”, “Palestine”, “Ayatollahs in Iran”, “Foreign debts”. At least 11 of Billy’s 118 references are relevant again in real-time, and those current references are only scratching the surface of what we’re up against. Real-time additions could include “Biden’s Border Crisis”, “Pipeline-gas lines”, “High inflation, back again”, “Dependency over paychecks”, “Lockdowns”, “Defund Police”, “CDC makes no sense”, “WHO wants to run the show”, “Racial riots rule the streets”... I can’t take it anymore. That line very much still applies. Anyway, it’s like this. We all know the saying those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. Donald Trump’s peace through strength mirroring Ronald Reagan’s has been replaced by our weakest president since Jimmy Carter and voila. We didn’t start the fire but the country and world is a less safe place today and your cost of living is rapidly rising because Joe Biden is president. But thank God...no more Trump Tweets, right? Congratulations, the dumbing down of the country was completed. Speaking of which...
- Veena Malik still has a Twitter account. Donald Trump doesn’t. On back of Hamas’s terror attacks on Israel came Pakistani actress Veena Malik’s tweet to her 1.2 million followers citing Adolf Hitler. She tweeted: I would have killed all the Jews of the world … but I kept some to show the world why I killed them. Veena Malik still has a Twitter account. Donald Trump doesn’t. Any questions?
- Run Nikki run. Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried is close to ending her unofficial campaigning for governor for an official run for governor. In a video tease on Twitter she indicated June 1st is the day. This is encouraging for two reasons. First, having an actual campaign will likely mean she’ll use at least some campaign resources to run for governor as opposed to all taxpayer resources as she’s done up ‘til now. Second, Florida’s got a great chance of having an Agriculture Commissioner who’s interested in agriculture in 2023. Nikki’s run for governor will preclude her from running re-election in her current post and will setup a governor’s race among Democrats which could prove to be more interesting than 2018’s six-person race. A race which already includes a former governor, albeit when he was a Republican and Florida’s only statewide elected Democrat. Does Val Demmings decide to join the fray? That becomes the next question. It’ll also be a battle for the heart and soul of Florida’s Democratic Party. Was Andrew Gillum an outlier who only won because of a crowded race? Are the Gwynn Grahams of the party really still the heart and soul? Are Florida’s Democrats now controlled by woke radicals? So, yeah run Nikki run. It’s all you’ve been doing anyway. And thankfully you’ll be wasting someone else’s money soon.
