Many of us are hoping that a new state law aimed at cracking down on robocalls will make a dent in the amount of nuisance calls and texts we receive.
But as Brian Mudd told us earlier this week, a 2020 study of robocalls in the U.S. found that 46 percent of them were scams and people attempting to rip you off aren't likely to follow the law.

"Some guy with a laptop and a cell phone could be sitting in Costa Rica somewhere and telling you he's calling from your credit card in Wisconsin."
A recent FBI report showed that Florida's elderly population is one of the largest groups across the nation falling prey to scammers.
More than 100,000 Florida residents over the age of 65 fell victim to scams last year, with the average financial hit being over $9,000.
