- Any questions? Yes, Jeff Bezos is a brilliant man. Yeah, he’s funny. Yep, his maiden Blue Origin voyage was cool to watch. And nope I don’t like the guy. And today even less than yesterday. Life is about decisions. We can all choose to be forces for good or forces for evil. Bezos ended his reign at Amazon by presiding over the de-platforming of Parler and the reigning in of free speech. Now he’s kicked off his post-operating life by funding a Marxist. Yes, a Marxist. Upon the completion of the voyage, the world’s richest man first thanked Amazon customers because they paid for it, which was funny, though I think he was attempting to be sincere. He then reminded Amazon’s customers of something else they’ve paid for. $100 million he awarded to Van Jones. Yes, that Van Jones. The Van Jones who cofounded STORM, or the Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, which is founded on Marxism. The same Van Jones who resigned as President Obama’s “Green Czar” after pledging support to Blank Panther cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. That Van Jones. I’m sorry Pitbull, Jeff Bezos isn’t coming to aid Cubans desperately seeking freedom from Marxism. Instead, he’s busy funding Marxists. But thank you Amazon customers. No, really. Yesterday a listener asked me why I didn’t like Jeff Bezos. Not an hour later that happened. I guess I could answer simply enough by saying that I love freedom and increasingly Tulsi Gabbard. Any questions?
- There’s no place safer than a classroom. And few organizations were or are as consistently wrong as teachers unions. The state’s final reporting is in from who contracted COVID-19 due to classroom education last year. The answer, 46% fewer kids, than those who didn’t attend classroom education. The infection rate for minors who attended classroom education in Florida last year was 3.7%. The rate for those who didn’t was 5.4%. This is consistent with what I discussed throughout the year and is important for multiple reasons. First, conventional wisdom often isn’t wise nor are the teacher’s unions. Second, schools can not only be made to be safe this fall regardless of whatever Greek alphabet variant we’re on, they’re likely to be the safest place for kids to steer clear of COVID-19 and learn. Third, if kids can safely go to school and live their lives in the middle of a pandemic, we all can.
- Border Bound for Florida ground. On Saturday Governor DeSantis said during his visit to the 50 Florida law enforcement professionals serving at the southern border, They’ve made over 2,000 apprehensions, over 100 felony arrests, and they say almost 70 percent of everybody they have interdicted said their ultimate destination was the state of Florida. While that may be anecdotal, we now have a pretty good idea that what wasn't, was the notion that Florida is ground zero for the southern border crisis. Not where it starts but where it ends. According to a month’s long investigation by the Center for Immigration Studies, Florida appeared to be the most common end destination for those bused by the Biden administration from the southern border. While news media across the state consistently questions Governor DeSantis’s motives for the commitment to address the southern border crisis, a more honest news media would ask the Biden administration why they’ve brought it to Florida.
