  • Florida enters the week experiencing peak COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Florida had 21,683 new diagnosed cases on Saturday – higher than the previous peak reached January 1st. COVID-19 hospitalizations now total over 10,200 cases, exceeding the previous peak reached last July. Related...
  • Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties have all reimposed mask mandates inside of all government buildings. 
  • Florida has hired Jacksonville’s Fidelity Information Services to process $1,000 bonus checks which will be paid to educators and first responders. The checks will be paid directly from the state to those eligible as opposed to through local governments/agencies. The state confirmed the checks will go out by mid-August. 
  • The federal moratorium on evictions ended on Sunday. According to estimates from Zillow, a total of 481,630 Floridians are currently delinquent and an estimated 261,945 evictions are likely to occur.
