Top Three Takeaways – August 4th, 2021

  1. When vaccines may be more effective than natural immunity. In today’s Q&A I address a series of outstanding questions posed by a listener regarding natural immunity vs COVID-19 vaccines. As Florida’s summer surge in cases hasn’t shown signs of letting up yet and with frustrations running as high as new coronavirus cases in our state, what’s the best way to protect yourself...or your family? And if you’ve already had COVID-19 is there really any point in getting a vaccination? On one hand natural immunity would seem like a no-brainer to be the most effective form of immunity. Not that contracting COVID-19 to protect yourself in the future from COVID-19 should be anyone’s “A” plan. But still, what if you’ve had it? Putting together data in two related studies, one sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and another conducted by the University of Missouri’s School of Medicine...the conclusion’s compelling. Natural immunity proved more effective than any of the vaccines, at greater than 99% efficacy 3.5 months later. But only against the original strain of the virus – not the variants. Against the variants, it appears the mRNA, or Moderna and Pfizer vaccines specifically, may be more effective than even natural immunity from the original strain against them. So yes, based on available data, it’s increasingly clear that the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are superior to the J&J and appear to be the best bets, even over natural immunity, to combat contracting the Delta variant.
  2. The ACLU is suing to keep COVID-19 positive migrants in the US. Just let that sink in for a moment. That’s a thing. It’s really happening. The Biden administration, which has about as much border credibility as Dr. Kevorkian as a caretaker, is being sued by the ACLU for being too restrictive. It’s hard to know what’s more insane. The Biden administration having a border so wide open that a border patrol agent was quoted as saying “we’ve surrendered the border”. Or the ACLU now suing to keep even those testing positive with COVID-19 inside the United States. The Biden Administration is the only entity that’s openly invited COVID-19 into the country and the ACLU is the only entity absurd enough to legally sue to keep maximum amounts of it here. Along with vast amounts of illegal immigrants...of which court records show at least 74% of these border crossers turnout to be.
  3. Do you deserve a choice? While many in news media are revealing in Florida’s peak pandemic status and everyone from Florida’s wannabe governor Nikki Fried to Jen Psaki of the Jen Psaki drinking game are taking shots at Governor DeSantis...there’s this. Do you deserve a choice? Do you deserve a choice as to if your children should be mandated to wear a mask in the classroom all day? Do you deserve a choice as to if you’re vaccinated or not? Do you deserve a choice to have access to services if you aren’t vaccinated? What inherently strikes me as odd is how many Americans are willing to say no. Starting with the left. Once again, it’s ironic that with Democrats and the left generally, being pro-choice only applies to eliminating the “choice” of a baby to live. If you’re pro-choice you’re pro-DeSantis. If you’re pro-mandates, aka anti-choice, you’re one of them. Patrick Henry famously said “Give me liberty or give me death!”. It’s fascinating how many in society seemingly prefer the pro-death approach. If governments error in society it should always be on the side of liberty. So yes, I’m truly pro-choice which means I’m pro-life and pro-DeSantis's approach. For all who stand opposed. I’d suggest you stop looking to the government for solutions and take care of yourself. Freedom is what makes us different than the rest of the world. If you don’t like it, you’re welcome to leave. Americans, Floridians, deserve a choice.
