Top Three Takeaways – August 20th, 2021

  1. Who’s ready for Friday? I mean, that’s worthy of a no kidding just about any week. But for what we’re all living in and through right now...what a week. I remember saying to my wife Ashley on New Year’s Eve, I don’t know why everyone is so excited about putting 2020 behind us. 2020 didn’t screw us, a virus covered up by the communists in China did. And then voters further decided to screw us for the future in November. Neither of those issues was set to go away with the change of the date on the calendar and the effects of one of them wasn’t even going to take effect until the new year. So here we are seven months into Joe Biden playing the role of President of the United States. Yes, it’s only been seven months – today. I know, holy crap, right? I understand there was a high degree of cluelessness with just over half of the country who thought there really was more to Joe Biden than Terry Kiser in Weekend at Bernie’s. That Trump’s tweets really weren't worth having a secure border, increasing peace in the middle east, record vaccines to address the pandemic and record low unemployment with record personal prosperity before it. I do understand the cluelessness of many. I cover our education system extensively. And that’s why I’m not surprised today, save one caveat. And it’s where I agree with Bernie, uhh...I mean Biden. Just as he didn’t expect the collapse of Afghanistan to happen as fast as it did. I didn’t expect his administration to collapse as fast as it has. That’s because I was only joking about Biden being Bernie. Now I know there’s really not much difference. Caring about this country, caring about right and wrong, it’s one reason why I’m especially ready for Friday. At the same time, it makes me a little sad because while most of us can go home and enjoy our families this weekend and get away from reality for a little bit, those left in the wake of the disastrous policies of Joe Biden at the border can’t, nor can in Afghanistan. And even as we enjoy our weekends, we’re left paying more for it every time we buy anything. So yeah, I’m ready for Friday but more than anything I’m ready for a competent president and a better education system which we’re unlikely to get in South Florida anytime soon and that’s because...
  2. Our school districts are breaking the law ensuring they teach less and students learn less. This is literally happening. This is another one that I don’t think even Rod Serling managed to dream up. It would surely have seemed too absurd to have the Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County School Districts all decide they’d break the law ensuring they’d teach less, but that’s exactly what’s happening in our bizarro world. Here’s a quick refresh in case you’ve missed my reporting over the past couple of weeks. There are 13 studies on the National Institutes of Health’s website (team Fauch) studying the impact of masks in the classroom. Each one which covered the impact of masks on teaching and learning found that teachers are less effective at teaching and students are less effective at learning with masks on. That was true in kindergarten, it was true in medical school. That’s independent of the related research within those studies illustrating that up to 81% of children who wear masks at school suffer negative health consequences as well. So that’s what our school districts fight for, that’s what they’re willing to break the law for. To ensure our teachers teach less, students learn less and suffer negative health effects in the process. All in the name of...health. Scarier still. These science deniers are responsible for teaching science and these law breakers are responsible for teaching laws. I’d say we deserve better, but we don’t because we voted for these people. I’ll point something else out for everyone who has listened to my reporting over the past two weeks. Notice how no one has been able to refute my claims because they’re factual, as is the case with all of my work, yet no one else reports them? But remember...
  3. Know what’s happening in the classroom. It’s more important than ever. Even if your kids can only half understand what the teachers are saying with their masks on. This week in Utah this happened. In a Utah Chemistry class, a teacher said: I hate Donald Trump. I’m gonna say it. I don’t care what y’all think. Trump sucks. When a student responded by saying “this is chemistry class” she said... Go tattle on me to the freakin’ admin. They don’t give a crap. Now, what do you bet she was right? What do you bet the leftist agenda is so ingrained that she had complete confidence to go off on an anti-Trump rant in a chemistry class because the school’s administrative staff created an environment she felt comfortable indoctrinating her students in? Now, in the end they did care because another student recorded the 4-minute tirade, and they were forced to care after it went viral. Said teacher is now fired. Now, if our school districts are set to break the law over masks do you think they give a rip about the Florida Board of Education’s ban on Critical Race Theory? You think they’d create an environment in which teachers feel comfortable going off on leftist tangents? 78% of Florida’s public school teachers are members of the pro-CRT American Federation of Teachers. If you care about your kids, know what’s happening in the classroom. Masks or no masks.
