Emergency sirens will be activated on all campuses of Florida Atlantic University on Tuesday.

Administrators say they're testing all components of the college's alert system, beginning at 10 a.m.

This means a loud siren sound and spoken message will be heard over the PA systems across the main campus in Boca Raton, as well as in Jupiter and Fort Pierce. Neighborhoods and businesses near the campuses may also heard the noise.

FAU says all university-wide email, telephone, web and social media alerts, along with digital signage, app and text messaging will be tested as well.

The FAU Alert system is designed to help keep FAU’s students, faculty, staff and campus visitors safe during emergency situations.
