- Hospitalizations fell by another 60patients on Thursday leaving 2,377 Florida’s hospitalized with COVID-19. The lowest since July 5th.
- Governor DeSantis is calling for a special session in November for the state to pass legislation banning federal vaccine mandates for employment in Florida. As part of the planned session the Governor is also considering a proposal to withdraw Florida from OSHA, the agency which would enforce the Biden vaccine mandate, in lieu of a newly created state agency.
- Miami-Dade School Superintendent Alberto Carvalho announced the school district may soon relax the District’s mask mandate policy to allow for parental optouts – citing decreasing COVID-19 cases. Miami-Dade is one of eight school districts in the state currently violating state law by mandating masks without parental optouts.
