It's Election Day for some Palm Beach County residents.

Those living in U.S. Congressional District 20, have Republican and Democrat primaries for the seat vacated by the death of longtime Congressman Alcee Hastings.

District 20 covers portions of West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Lake Park, Loxahatchee and Royal Palm Beach, along with areas of Broward County.

There are eleven candidates running in the Democrat primary, including five who currently hold public office. They are State Representative and former Lake Worth Beach City Commissioner Omari Hardy, State Rep. Bobby DuBose, state Senator Perry Thurston and Broward County Commissioners Dale Holness and Barbara Sharief.

Former Palm Beach County Commissioner Priscilla Taylor is among the other Democrats running.

The two Republicans running are welding inspector Greg Musselwhite and recovered drug addict and business owner Jason Mariner.

The winners of the primaries will face off in the Special General Election on January 11, which will include some third and no-party candidates.

Also, residents of Highland Beach have a question on the ballot and that election is open to all registered voters living in the town located east of Boca Raton.

Polls are open until 7 p.m. and you vote at the precinct on your voter registration card.
