The Trump Indictment & The Rest of the Story – Top 3 Takeaways

The Trump Indictment & The Rest of the Story – Top 3 Takeaways – April 5th, 2023

  1. Plenty of absurdities but no surprises. Porn star. Check. Playboy model. Check. And speaking of checks, the alleged use of them to attempt to keep the porn star and Playboy model quiet is at the root of the Manhattan DA’s case. This indictment had everything you might look for in a sensational National Inquirer story. Which, incidentally, because this entire set of alleged circumstances is as absurd as it is, is even part of the story. It was American Media, parent of the National Inquirer, which used to run interference for these types of things. When you take a step back and think about the 34-count indictment against Donald Trump it’s all so entirely absurd. It’s also absurd that after having attempted to take him down for an invented Russian collusion hoax, Ukrainian collusion hoax, and January 6th collusion hoax that this is what the left has resorted to – the alleged nearly two-decade old affairs with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. This indictment is as bad of a case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) as we’ve seen yet. With the yet being key because there could still be more to come. But despite the absurdities, of which there are many, there were no surprises. No handcuffs. No mug shot. No courtroom cameras. A not guilty plea. A motion to dismiss and a motion to move the case. And a resolute former and perhaps future President of the United States delivering a determined speech back home at Mar-a-Lago. While watching this unfold yesterday, I was left with two thoughts. The first, was what our enemies were thinking. Seriously, what do you think Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, the Mullahs in Iran and even Little Rocket Man were thinking while this happened yesterday? Perhaps about the same thing as most Democrats in this country? Which should tell you something. Answer honestly, who would Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and the Mullahs, etc. prefer to have as President of the United States – Joe Biden or Donald Trump? Once again, the same as most Democrats in this country, which should tell you something. The most absurd aspect to all of this, is that Democrats bent on getting Trump are doing the bidding of our worst enemies. That’s not conjecture, that’s not hyperbole. Putin doesn’t invade Ukraine if Donald Trump is still president. Period. China doesn’t take steps to invade Taiwan if Donald Trump is still president. Period. While witnessing the absurdities play out yesterday, I couldn’t help but to think of the absurdities and the mistakes made by previous world superpowers which led to their demise. And that...
  2. Democrats are from Mars, the rest of Americans are from Venus. You’re welcome to reverse the planets if it makes you more comfortable with the analogy, the point remains either way. I say this specifically today because as I was watching and wondering what world leaders were thinking of this spectacle yesterday, that led me to wonder what President Biden was thinking, which then led to me thinking of what we think of him. And the answer isn’t much of anything positive – unless you’re a Democrat. While the country, and the world for that matter, are understandably focused on what’s happening with Donald Trump, there’s another significant story playing out with Joe Biden. The key to Joe Biden’s success right along has been to go into hiding. It’s what worked on the campaign trail and for the most part it’s when he’s performed the best in approval polling. But of late, as Joe’s been a no show, and his chief rival has been under the threat of indictment, it’s not working. Joe’s approval polls are continuing to decline. And it’s not just what his current national approval rating is, at a very weak 39%, that’s such a big deal – it’s where any approval at all for his performance is coming from. Almost exclusively Democrats. While greater than 80% of Democrats nationally approve of President Biden’s performance, only 27% of independents do. In fact, right now, as Trump’s under indictment, his favorability rating with independents is four points higher than President Biden’s approval rating is with independents. In other words, President Joe Biden who’s largely protected by news media and is in hiding today, is currently in a worse position to win the 2024 Presidential election than Trump, with the kitchen sink being thrown at him. That’s notable. The way most legacy news media and pop culture types generally attempt to spin perception, would have you thinking Republicans and most of all Trump supporters, are the outliers in society. The fact of the matter is that it’s most Democrats who are. Thus, Democrats are from Mars, the rest of Americans are from Venus and right now. Today. Despite all of the absurdities we’re witnessing and living through, Donald Trump is better positioned to win the 2024 election than Joe Biden is. But back to the matter at hand...
  3. A pathetically weak case. Those were the words from former Attorney General William Barr as he described the charges brought against Donald Trump yesterday. He also suggested in no uncertain terms that what DA Alvin Bragg has done is engage prosecutorial misconduct. So, Bragg has indicted his ham sandwich. Can he convict one too? It sounds as though that would be necessary here. But for now, get ready for a whole bunch of nothing to happen for a while with this case. A case which may not be resolved by the time votes are being counted next year.
