- In a Florida Democrat town hall Paul Handerhan, the president and founder of the Federal Association for Insurance Reform, who is also the past president of the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, stated Florida’s insurance market is indeed showing encouraging signs of turning a corner in the crisis. He called on Democrats to stop the “infighting and finger-pointing" over the issue citing recently enacted reforms as key to a recovery.
- Florida State is considering leaving the ACC amid a revenue distribution dispute with the conference. The conference has changed its revenue distribution model to reward performance of athletic performance in football and basketball. FSU believes the model should primarily be based on the revenue generated by programs.
- Amid the lowest park attendance levels in years, on the back of Disney’s public battle with Florida and Governor DeSantis over Parental Rights in Education, the park is lowering rates for Florida residents. A limited time offer allows Floridians to purchase a two-day two-park ticket for $159. The offer runs now through September 29th.
- Gas prices continued to rise Wednesday. Statewide the average price for regular unleaded is currently $3.84 per gallon – 2 cents higher than yesterday and 18 cents higher than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.96 per gallon, which is the highest price in the state.
