  • Today is the first day of School in Palm Beach and Martin Counties for the 2023-2024 school year. The School Districts created webpages with resources and information for parents and students including transportation information, school hours, after-school programs and more. The information is location at plambeachschools.org/backtoschool & martinschools.org/page/reopening.  
  • The University of Florida is rolling out a new AI curriculum in schools across the state. Four courses are a part of the program: Artificial Intelligence in the World, Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Procedural Programming, and Foundations of Machine Learning. Twelve school districts are participating in the AI education program including Palm Beach.  
  • Most of Florida faces an “excessive heat warning” today as record high temperatures for this date are possible across the state. The hottest expected temperature today is in Jacksonville with a high of 98. The advisory extends from the lower keys north through Jacksonville. In the Palm Beaches highs in the mid-90's are expected.  
  • Gas prices dropped a penny on Wednesday. Statewide the average price for regular unleaded is now $3.78 per gallon – 6 cents lower than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price remains $3.93 per gallon, which is the highest price in the state.
