  • Governor DeSantis signed three bills into law on Wednesday including two which will have direct benefits for homeowners for the foreseeable future. The My Safe Florida Home Program bill is now law. The program which provides grant money from the state for home hardening measures such as impact windows and doors has been made permanent allowing thousands of Floridians to participate annually. Additionally, the My Safe Florida Condominium Pilot Program bill is now law. Mirrored after the My Safe Florida Home Program, the new condominium program will provide similar benefits to condo owners and associations.  
  • The governor also provided an operational update on The Florida Division of Emergency Management’s operation to rescue Americans from Haiti amid a collapse of the country’s government. A total of 722 Americans have been brought back to the US under the program.  
  • At a stop at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, Florida AG Ashley Moody encouraged residents to participate in Saturday’s 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The local year-round effort dubbed Operation Pill Drop, is conducted by PBSO and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, allows for safe dispersing of unused and expired medications. Under the program the county collected over 3,100 pounds of medications last year. 
  • The West Palm Beach GreenMarket was named the second best in the country in USA Today’s annual “10 Best” list. The City’s GreenMarket had ranked first for the previous three years. The Worthington Farmers Market in Ohio ranked first nationally. West Palm Beach’s GreenMarket will resume in October. 
  • It’ll be another nice day today with highs in the low 80’s, which is typical for this date. We'll have pleasant weather for the rest of the week though the weekend will be windy.  
  • Gas prices dropped for a fourth straight day on Wednesday dropping by three cents per gallon. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.48 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.73 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.56 and in Indian River County the average is $3.52 per gallon.
