  • Governor DeSantis signed two bills into law on Wednesday including the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services bill which bans the production of so-called “lab grown meat”. The first-in-the-nation legislation was touted by the governor and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson as a “preservation of the integrity of American agriculture”. Florida’s largest agricultural segment is beef production. 
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife announced they’ve identified several people aboard the boat which was caught on video dumping trash into the ocean during the annual unsanctioned water party on Lake Boca known as the Boca Bash on Sunday. The FWC said they’re working with the State Attorney’s office on appropriate charges.  
  • After changing names to Rosemary Square, and more recently The Square, the Downtown West Palm Beach commercial operator of food and entertainment spaces has announced a return to the name CityPlace. In an Instagram post for CityPlace the operators stated: The name reflects who we are as a brand as we continue to build on what we've established in downtown West Palm Beach. 
  • Clear skies and highs in the mid 80’s today, which is about three degrees warmer than for this date. We should have similar weather throughout the rest of the week. 
  • Gas prices rose six cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.64 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.76 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.65 and in Indian River County the average is $3.58 per gallon.
