  • Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis is hosting the Fixing Problems for Floridians Fair next Tuesday (the 28th) at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport Hotel. The event is aimed at helping residents obtain assistance with auto, property and health insurance issues and claims, unclaimed property, home hardening recommendations and how to participate in the state’s My Safe Florida Home Program to receive grants for home hardening measures among other services. The event will take place from 8:30 am to 5 pm and is free and open to the public.  
  • While guest hosting The Sean Hannity show on Wednesday Governor DeSantis announced, with AG Ashley Moody, that the state is investigating Starbucks over its DEI policies. Moody has referred a complaint to the Florida Commission on Human Relations pertaining to the companies alleged DEI mandates for employees. The complaint points to specific racial/ethnic and gender based corporate quotas for hiring practices.  
  • The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has a new online police report that residents can use to file non-emergencies. The new online reporting system can be used to file police reports for incidents occurring within Palm Beach County excluding I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. The Citizen’s Online Reporting system requires a valid email address and will automatically email you a copy of a report once filed. Reports will be reviewed and those necessitating a response will result in a phone call or face-to-face Zoom session.   
  • Today is a repeat of the past couple of days. It'll be hot and dry with highs in the upper 80’s which is about 6 degrees higher than usual for this date. Similar weather is expected throughout the rest of the week as Sarhan dust continues to make its way around Florida. 
  • Gas prices rose for a third straight day on Wednesday. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.56 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.73 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.60 and in Indian River County the average is $3.50 per gallon.
