  • Over 1.3 million Floridians have voted either by returned vote-by-mail ballots or early voting in advance of Florida’s August 20th primaries. Republicans have outvoted Democrats by nearly 88,000 votes statewide. Early voting continues daily throughout this week. Palm Beach County is operating early voting locations from 7 am to 7 pm through Sunday. In Martin County early voting is available from 8 am until 5 pm through Saturday and Indian River County is operating early voting locations from 8 am until 4 pm through Saturday. Related... 
  • Among those voting early on Wednesday...Former President Donald Trump. In a contrast to his two previous election campaigns, when Trump encouraged Election Day voting, the former president has endorsed early and vote-by-mail voting in this cycle which is also being encouraged by the Republican Party following a huge advantage in pre-Election Day voting by Democrats in 2020. 
  • Delray Beach PD is warning residents and visitors about a rise in catalytic converter thefts occurring throughout the city. Police are advising people to park in well-lit areas with surveillance cameras, consider having a catalytic converter lock installed on vehicles and etching your vehicle’s VIN number on the converter. Police also are calling on the community to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and to report any odd behavior around vehicles to police.  
  • It’ll be hot again today, though not quite as hot as it’s been with a high around 90. Temperatures will be about 4 degrees warmer than usual for this date. Hurricane Ernesto has turned north and is expected to impact Bermuda. It is not a threat to Florida. No other tropical systems are expected to develop over the next seven days. 
  • Gas prices dropped a penny on Wednesday – though prices rose locally. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.38 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.55 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.42 and in Indian River County the average is $3.40 per gallon.
