Election Season Starts Today & The SAVE Act Should Be Passed Right Away – Top 3 Takeaways

  1. The rest of the story... In my top three takeaways yesterday, I highlighted the DOJ’s announced election integrity focus (Russian election interference 3.0, Iranian interference and threats against election workers), along with the AP’s narrative and subsequent reporting that “illegal voting by noncitizens is rare”. Except, as I illustrated using the AP’s own reporting it isn’t rare as it’s been found in each state, and in every election in which it’s been investigated...but hey- details, right? Now, it’s clear that the Biden-Harris Justice Department isn’t interested in doing anything about it. It’s clear that the AP and related MSM reporting is going to downplay it. And that’s where I want to pickup with today’s takeaways. In the AP’s reporting, while attempting to downplay concerns about the potential for illegal immigrants to vote in upcoming elections they highlighted the federal law mandating that only American citizens are legally allowed to vote in federal elections. This is true... However, ... It’s also illegal for illegal immigrants to be here in the first place! How well would you say having had unenforced immigration laws worked out? How many of the warm and fluffy migrants, aka illegal immigrants, get to the southern border, realize they’re about to break the law – and btw, that includes almost all the asylum seekers too, as approximately 97% of asylum seekers have no legitimate asylum claim – but how many of them get to our southern border and go oh gee...what I’m about to do would be breaking the law and turn back?
  2. So, what then is the expectation that people whose first action in this country is to break the law, will suddenly feel beholden by them? This is why, along with the record number of illegal immigrants allowed to run free in this country that we’ve seen most recently noncitizens committing crimes at a rate that’s 914% higher than legal citizens. It’s why they’re now responsible for 24% of all drug trafficking, 25% of all property crimes, 28% of all fraud. Its why noncitizen homicides have increased by 967% under the Biden administration along with a 604% increase in burglaries, theft and fraud (but of course not voter fraud because as the AP would have you believe – yeah, they’re cool with robbing and killing a bunch of people and committing various types of fraud – but they’re a hard “no” when it comes to voter fraud). So, here’s the deal. Every state should have a mandatory process in place to ensure that only citizens are registered to vote in federal elections. Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Ohio and North Dakota have passed constitutional amendments in recent years specifying that “only” citizens can vote in those states. Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin have proposed amendments on their ballots this cycle that would also mandate that “only” citizens would be able to vote. Those should pass, and measures should be taken up in all other states that don’t already specify that “only” citizens should vote as well. But even then, that requires willing state administrators to enforce the law by properly reconciling voter rolls.
  3. Another measure that should be passed is the U.S. House proposed SAVE Act. The Act would mandate proof of citizenship in order for voter registration. House Speaker Mike Johnson has included the SAVE Act, which passed the House with the support of five Democrats (though none were members of Florida’s delegation – because apparently every elected House Democrat in Florida thinks proof of citizenship shouldn’t be a voter registration requirement – what does that tell you about their integrity?), in his proposal to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for a Continuing Resolution to continue funding the government into next year. This should absolutely happen and it’s a fight Republicans need to be willing to have. As the Heritage Foundation’s Voter Fraud Database depicts, since 1979 there have been 1,546 proven instances of voter fraud, including 215 of those instances taking place since 2020, 1,313 criminal convictions of voter fraud and numerous election results (most commonly local races) that have been overturned due to voter fraud. But who really cares because we’re told that it’s rare, right? What’s rare is intellectually honest and accurate reporting from most news outlets. Election integrity, and specifically transparency into it, shouldn’t be a controversial issue. It shouldn’t be a partisan issue. And in fact, with voters it isn’t. A 2024 Pew Research study of election integrity measures found that Americans support voters being required to provide photo identification via a government-issued ID by an 81%-18% margin. How many high-profile issues are there these days in which 81% of Americans agree with a particular policy? This is one of them. Election integrity is one of them. It’s only the elected officials on the left, and to be clear it’s exclusively elected officials on the left, and their allies in the godless, soulless and slanderous news media who stand opposed, to what’s been proposed, in the SAVE Act. Election integrity certainly shouldn’t be an issue that an honest and unbiased news media establishment should be attempting to bury. But that election integrity continues to be all of those things tells you just how important it is to have adequate poll watchers everywhere. The left and their allies in the MSM will tell you they care about counting every vote. They just happen to not care about protecting the integrity of your vote as they are all about leaving the door open for illegal immigrants to vote. That’s why you should use your vote, to vote out those who refuse to protect the integrity of your vote. That specifically means it’s time for Lois Frankel and Jared Moskowitz to go. We must control what we can control as we’re now only 60 days away from Election Day, with the start of the election season today as North Carolina will begin mailing out vote-by-mail ballots.
